The Real Heaven.....

I read in my history books, a king had said about Kashmir that "Gar firdaus ae baruhe zamin ast Hamin astu hamin astu hamin astu(If there is heaven on earth it is here, it is here it is here.)"
Yeah, Kashmir is beautiful.......
INDEED.... very beautiful....
BUT
While talking of heaven, the king must have been talking about his Mother

The real heaven is here

and only here.....

what do you think?

We all are corrupt, aren't we....?

A lot of debate, number of protests.....
Everyone seems to be shouting "We want anti-corruption bill".
But wait a second, let's introspect and see if we really need a bill, law or ordinance.
Let's as ourselves,"How corruption free are we?".
How many of us will not accept bribe given a chance to take it?
How honest are we at following the rules?
I accept, I m not corruption free. I have paid bribe, not once but thrice.

I paid bribe to escape fine; fine for jumping red light, driving without license.
I wasn't responsible and paid bribe of 200 bucks to avoid fine of 500.
What was I told by all around me?"Chal wadia,Saste ch sar gaya"(You got it settled for a cheap price, good).
No one told me that I should have carried license or been more responsible in driving.
I paid bribe to obtain copy of FIR after I registered complaint of lost phone.
Is it becoming our national character or is it already our humane character?
Mahatma Gandhi's 3 monkeys seem to have been transformed over time.

I expect all of us to be responsible, reasonable and honest. Be true to our conscience and reflect before act.
To blame is easy, to take blame is tough.
Let's learn to be responsible, act responsibly and only then we can uproot the deep rooted corruption.

Price Rise.... What??

Rising fuel prices have been a major issue. Here's a likely happening:

Santa goes to a petrol pump(gas station). The attendant there asks"Kinne da pava?"(what quantity of fuel shall i fill?)
Santa, with a sigh,"kinne da ki paunaa, 2-3 boonda spray kar de, agg hi launi ai !!!!!!!"(Not much, just sprinkle some fuel on it, I'm to set it on fire)

The Desires of Child: expressed and suppressed

My mother is a Kindergarten teacher. Recently, 2-3 days after result declaration of UKG in her school, parents of a student approached her in her school and complained that their child had failed written test for admission in other school even as he had scored 99% in UKG. They said their child can't even write English alphabets(they should read here).

My mother told them that this can't be the case. Thus, school authorities arranged for the answer sheets to be reviewed which revealed that the child had done well enough to score excellently.
The child was then given a chocolate or two and asked to write alpabets and whatever other things that were required which he did.
The parents were shocked and angry(instead of being happy that their child is indeed learning).
The school where they wanted to get their child admitted is  run by a religious community.
The things were pretty clear. The child didn't want to leave his present school as he enjoyed learning here and must be having good friends to play with. He was simply afraid to leave his school.
Nevertheless, his parents obtained a copy of his answer sheets, approached the new school authorities and got their child admitted there.

It hurts to see that parents failed to understand the psychology and expression of feelings of their own children........
PS: Both the schools mentioned here are the top schools.

The Dilemma....

Nearly Right...... Is it good enough??

Often we talk about "That was nearly correct"......... I get a question in my mind,"Is nearly right good enough?"
I studied in a small town school budhlada. It was a good school known as "L.A.D.M.D.A.V. Public School". The clerk's room where we used to deposit our fees had a number of charts, quotes pics hanging on the wall.
The one which amused me the a lot can be described as follows:
A guy is standing with apple on this head and is very tense, sweating and scared.
Reason?
An arrow is approaching him. In Big, Bold letters, the wording written says,"Oh, the difference between nearly right and exactly right",,,,... :) :P ;)
PS: I coudn't find the exact picture, so added the one which nearly shows everything.

The happinees flowchart :)

Explains alot about happiness..... hmmmmmm

Micro Management....?

Question
He was like"Main ni jaana. Menu koi order ni aaya"(I won't go. I have No orders).  :o

Recently we went on a placement drive in Shimla. A bus from our campus(Ropar) dropped us at kharar from where buses went to shimla campus.
We returned at around 3 in morning and reached kharar.
The teacher in-Charge from kharar campus was a gentle person. He reached there along with us and asked the bus driver to drop us at ropar campus. We all were rather happy that we'll be albe to reach our hostel hassle free. But there was a twist.
The driver refused.
What? yeah.
The in-charge insisted that students need to be dropped at their college but driver won't agree. In-charge said that he can call TPO officer or Director of Institute, and driver will get to know what needs to be done. But no, driver wants to talk to just "GM of transport" who wasn't available at that time.
It took the teacher some 15 mins and a call to a highly placed authority before driver agreed.
It just gave rise to a question "How come the driver have power to refuse a senior official for a valid task?".
ps: Kharar and Ropar are two places 40 km apart.

The CURIOUS CASE of BIMBO

A friend introduced me to the term Bimbo. Wikipedia defines the term as a term that in popular English language usage describes a woman who is physically attractive but is perceived to have a low intelligence or poor education.
Later in the day we were writing what was said to be written test(MCQs) for placement.
We were sitting with some other students from our college. There were 4 in one row. We divided the questions among ourselves and solved them with some time left.
Someone from back row asked for help. A friend of mine was helping, so he started dictating the answers as ball, cat diamond instead of b,c or d so as to escape from being caught by the invigilator.Bimbo
The guy in the back row was able to decipher the TOUGH code but the girls sitting next to him were like "yar cat dog wale tan question hi ni hege"(there are no questions related to cats or dogs). :P :D
